Police Seek Public Assistance to Identify Men in Kedron Apartment Break-in

Police are calling on members of the public to help identify two men who may have information about a break-in at a Kedron apartment complex earlier this month.

The incident occurred on Wednesday, 11 February at approximately 11:50am. Queensland Police have released CCTV images showing two Caucasian men walking down an internal staircase at the complex.

Authorities have emphasised that anyone who recognises the individuals should not approach them directly. Instead, they should contact Policelink and reference the case number QP2600279178.

Following the incident, police have increased their presence in the area, conducting foot patrols and distributing security awareness flyers to residents throughout the neighbourhood. The initiative aims to help locals assess their own home security measures and stay informed about reported crime in the area.

According to the information provided by police, residents have welcomed the increased communication and support from officers working to keep the community safe.

The distributed flyers contain practical security advice along with relevant police contact numbers. Police have noted that most break-ins are opportunistic in nature, particularly when entry points are easily accessible and valuable items such as parcels are visible from outside.

Security recommendations for apartment dwellers include getting to know neighbours to help identify unusual activity, ensuring communal doors don’t remain open and unattended, and installing properly fitted deadlocks and window locks. Residents are also advised to keep balcony screen doors locked at all times, even when home.

For those with garage access, police suggest avoiding storing valuable belongings in these areas, securing bicycles with photographic records and serial numbers, and removing all valuables from vehicles, including garage remotes. Drivers should verify that garage doors close completely and consider using anti-theft screws for registration plates.

Stafford Heights Couple Face Home Sale Over Restaurant Supply Dispute

An elderly Stafford Heights couple is fighting to save their family home of 36 years as they contest a legal dispute over an alleged unpaid restaurant supply bill.

Carlo and Anna Maria Sica, who operate Carlo Naples Pizza on Lincoln Street in Strathpine, are defending a lawsuit filed in the Brisbane Supreme Court by Global Food and Wine Pty Ltd, a Nerang-based supplier.

The supplier claims the couple owes $48,013 for food deliveries made between 17 October 2023 and 14 January 2025, according to court documents filed on 3 November 2025.

Global Food and Wine alleges that Mr Sica, now 79, signed a personal guarantee on 1 June 2020 as part of a credit account arrangement with the supplier. The company has sought a court order for payment or the forced sale of the couple’s six-bedroom, three-bathroom Trouts Road home.

In August 2025, the supplier’s lawyers lodged a caveat against Mr Sica’s interest in the Stafford Heights property, which is jointly owned by the couple.

In their defence, filed on 12 December 2025, the Sicas have disputed key aspects of the claim. Mr Sica states he has “no recollection of ever executing the personal guarantee and indemnity agreement.”

The defence argues that if Mr Sica did sign the document, he was not adequately informed of its legal implications. Court documents state that at the time of the alleged signing, Mr Sica was 75 years old and “suffering from significant medical conditions and emotional stress.”

The defence further notes that English is Mr Sica’s second language and that whilst he has conversational proficiency, he “did not have sufficient proficiency to comprehend the legal meaning and consequences of the agreement.” The documents state he was not allowed to seek independent legal advice.

The couple has neither admitted nor denied the exact amount owed, stating that “complete records have not been recovered.” Mrs Sica has neither admitted nor denied being a joint holder in the partnership that operated the restaurant.

In their reply filed on 23 December 2025, Global Food and Wine stated they “remain uncertain of the truth or falsity” of Mr Sica’s denial despite making enquiries.

The supplier claims written demands for payment were made in July 2024 but remain unpaid.

No future court date has been set to hear the case.

The Sicas’ son, Max Sica, is serving a life sentence for the 2003 murders of three members of the Singh family—Neelma, 24, Kunal, 18, and Sidhi, 12—in what was described as one of Queensland’s most horrific crimes.

Two Arrested After Kedron Park Hotel Armed Robbery

A female employee at Kedron Park Hotel was allegedly threatened with a knife during an armed robbery on Friday morning, with police charging two men following separate arrests later that day.

Queensland Police allege two men forced their way into the Lutwyche Road establishment shortly before 7.30am on 10 January, where they stole cash and the worker’s wallet before escaping on a blue road motorcycle.

Police conducted a search warrant at a Beams Road property in Boondall around 6.40pm, resulting in the arrest of a 36-year-old man. A second arrest occurred just after 10pm at a Summerstone Boulevard address in Morayfield, where a 43-year-old man was taken into custody.

The 36-year-old Boondall man faces multiple charges, including armed robbery, deprivation of liberty, and entering premises with intent to commit an indictable offence. The 43-year-old Sandstone Point man has been charged with identical offences.

Both men are scheduled to appear before Brisbane Magistrates Court on Saturday, 11 January.

Detectives from Hendra Criminal Investigations Branch are seeking assistance from the public and have requested any dashcam or CCTV footage from Lutwyche Road and Kedron Park Road captured between 6.50am and 8.20am on Friday.

Kedron Family Installs Cameras After Repeated Tyre-Slashing Vandalism

A Kedron household has been forced to invest in security cameras after becoming the target of repeated vandalism that left them feeling unsafe in their own home.

The family’s ordeal began on 31 October when they discovered their vehicle had been damaged whilst out viewing Halloween decorations in the neighbourhood. What initially seemed like an isolated incident soon became a pattern of deliberate attacks that would continue for nearly two weeks.

CCTV footage installed by the concerned residents captured a woman approaching their property on multiple occasions, damaging tyres on vehicles parked in their driveway. The surveillance system, which cost the family more than $200 to purchase and install, proved crucial in identifying the alleged offender.

“Just feels like we’re being watched,” one resident told The Courier-Mail.

The attacks escalated over the fortnight, with the vandal returning to the property several times. On one occasion, multiple tyres across two different vehicles were punctured in a single night. The woman was captured on camera returning days later, and then again in the early hours of the morning.

The ongoing damage has taken both a financial and emotional toll on the household. With replacement tyres costing approximately $120 each, and multiple tyres damaged across their vehicles, the family eventually stopped replacing them whilst waiting for police intervention.

Queensland Police have now charged a 31-year-old Zillmere woman with three counts of wilful damage. She also faces one count each of possessing utensils or pipes and possessing property suspected of having been used in connection with a drug offence.

The accused is scheduled to appear before Brisbane Magistrates Court on 25 November.

The incident has left the Kedron residents shaken, highlighting concerns about property security in the suburban street. The family’s decision to install comprehensive CCTV coverage ultimately provided the evidence needed for police to take action.

Police Extend Crackdown on Unregistered E-Bikes Along Kedron Brook Bikeway

A teenager has been charged with 15 offences after allegedly fleeing from police on what appeared to be an e-bike but was legally classified as an unregistered electric motorcycle capable of reaching 75 km/h.

The incident occurred on 24 October in the carpark of Mercer Park in Kedron, where the boy allegedly took off after police attempted to intercept him. According to Queensland Police Service, he then rode through the public space at speeds of up to 50 km/h before heading towards the Kedron Brook Bikeway.

Plain clothes officers conducting proactive patrols in the area arrested the teen shortly afterwards. Police seized the vehicle after discovering it could reach speeds of 75 km/h and had a power output of 2040 watts, placing it well outside the legal parameters for an e-bike.

Further investigation allegedly linked the boy to several dangerous driving complaints previously reported by members of the public.

The teenager was dealt with under the Youth Justice Act for offences including three counts each of driving without a licence, driving an uninsured vehicle and operating an unregistered vehicle. He also faces two counts of failing to wear a motorbike helmet and single counts of dangerous operation of a vehicle, unlawful driving of a motorbike on public land, driving without due care and attention, and an evasion offence in company.

The arrest forms part of Operation Xray Stamp, which Stafford Police launched in August following complaints from locals about dangerous riding along the Kedron Brook Bikeway. The operation, initially planned as a short-term initiative, has now been extended until Christmas.

Acting Senior Sergeant Adam Hewton said police are working to address community concerns about the illegal use of high-powered devices on the popular bikeway, which is used by families with young children and elderly residents.

He emphasised that many parents don’t realise the serious consequences associated with these vehicles, drawing a comparison to allowing an unlicenced teenager to drive an unregistered car.

Police officers regularly respond to accidents involving these devices, some resulting in significant injuries or death, according to Acting Senior Sergeant Hewton. He stressed that the enforcement action aims to prevent serious injuries and fatalities rather than stop young people from having fun.

The operation includes ongoing engagement and education activities at local high schools alongside the patrol and enforcement measures.

Stafford Man Shot Inside Ferricks Street Home

On September 29, 2024, at approximately 2 PM, a man in his 40s was shot in the leg inside his home on Ferricks Street in Stafford.

Witness Michael Nocotra reported hearing a loud gunshot, stating, “We hear this big gunshot, this bang so we quickly ran inside.” Another neighbour, Rosana Romano, described the incident as “traumatising”.

According to reports, three individuals were seen quickly leaving the scene shortly after the shooting. The victim’s screams were heard by nearby residents.

Police responded rapidly to the incident, calling for immediate helicopter support. In an unusual turn of events, the police helicopter spotted a red Volkswagen, seen leaving the area, return to the crime scene. Officers on the ground were waiting and subsequently arrested a man and a woman who, according to police, are known to the victim.

Inspector Karl Hahne commended the swift action of the responding officers, saying, “Police immediately applied first aid and a tourniquet, which probably saved the gentleman’s life.” The victim was given CPR at the scene before being transported to the hospital by ambulance.

As of 7:28 PM on September 29, 2024, authorities are still searching for at least one more suspect believed to be involved in the shooting. The investigation is ongoing, and police have not released further details about the identities of those involved or the motive behind the shooting.

Residents are advised to remain vigilant as the police continue their search for the remaining suspects.

Couple Arrested After String of Break and Enter Offences

A couple, a 26-year-old man from Warner and a 33-year-old woman from Chermside, have been arrested and charged concerning a series of break and enter offences in the Stafford Heights and Chermside areas earlier this week.

The incidents began unfolding around 7:15 am on Tuesday, February 6th when residents of a home on Ringrose Street in Stafford Heights arrived to find two men allegedly loading property from their residence into a red Hyundai IX35. The offenders had allegedly forced entry through the front door and stolen items from three bedrooms.

As the alleged thieves fled the scene in the Hyundai, the quick-thinking residents avoided their cars from the thieves’ route, narrowly avoiding a collision. Some stolen goods spilled from the open boot of the getaway car along Webster Road and Kitchener Road.

A short time later, police received a report of the suspected red Hyundai parked in the car park of a unit complex on Spark Street in Chermside. Upon arriving at the location, officers allege they found not only the vehicle, which had been reported stolen from Aspley on January 25th, but a large haul of suspected stolen property inside.

Further investigations led police to a nearby hotel room, where they allegedly uncovered more stolen goods taken from a unit on Latham Street in Chermside.

The 26-year-old Warner man was arrested and charged with entering a dwelling to commit an indictable offence, two counts of unlawful use of a motor vehicle, receiving tainted property, and possession of a knife in a public place. He is due to appear in Brisbane Magistrates Court on February 28th.

His alleged 33-year-old female accomplice from Chermside was charged with receiving tainted property and possessing drug utensils. She is scheduled to face Brisbane Magistrates Court on March 8th.

Police state a third man allegedly fled the scene and remains at large. They are appealing to the public for any further information related to the case.
