Works involve removing the existing footpath and reconstructing the new footpath, which will be 1.2-m wide. A new turf is also included in the project, which commenced on 9 January 2022. Depending on weather conditions, works should be complete by 21 Jan 2022.
To minimise impacts on the local community and keep pedestrians and footpath users on Kitchener Rd and Webster Rd safe, the work will take place at night between 7:00 p.m. and 4:00 am, from Sunday night to Thursday night.
Councillor Fiona Hammond is reminding residents about minor delays, traffic diversions, and detours as well as noise and dust associated with the use of construction tools.
Brisbane City Council has also asked locals to not park their vehicles within the work zone during construction times.
